The departmental manifesto commenced at 12:30pm, with Mr Segun, one of the event hosts and panelists, declaring the programme open. He began by confirming the presence of all aspirants before explaining the guidelines for the exercise to both the audience and contestants. This included the time allotted for citation recitation, manifesto presentations, responses to questions, and other necessary procedures.
The screening exercise then proceeded with the Public Liaison Officer (PLO) position, featuring Godwin Peter Oche. Following the citation recitation by his representative, he presented his manifesto, after which both the panelists and members of the audience engaged him in a question-and-answer session. During the session, he emphasized effective communication between students and the department, strategic collaboration with class representatives and departmental executives, and assured students that the proposed tutorial classes would be provided at no cost!
The exercise continued in the same format for all subsequent aspirants. Each contestant invited a representative to deliver their citation, presented their manifesto, and responded to questions from both the panelists and members of the audience, allowing them to further explain their plans and defend their proposed policies.
The positions and aspirants screened were as follows:
1. Librarian: Musbaudeen Faruq Ayomide and Awonusi Kehinde Christianah
2. Director of sports: Ibiyemi Emmanuel
3. Director of socials: Jacobs Adesola (popularly known as Vamp) and Apanpa Mariam (popularly known as Maya)
4. Treasurer: Nzerem Benedicta
5: Assistant General Secretary: Adediwura Iyanuoluwa
6. Financial Secretary: Fayemi Zachaeus Pelumi and Iretomiwa Akintayo
7: Public Relations Officer (PRO): Idowu Regina
8. General Secretary: Okedeji James
9. Vice President: Balogun Grace
10. President: Abass Oluwafisayo
The Welfare Director aspirant,Ogunlana Omoyeni was unavoidably absent due to important personal circumstances and, as such, did not participate in the manifesto exercise.
Throughout the screening, both the panelists and members of the audience directed questions to the aspirants, giving them the opportunity to clarify their manifestos, defend their proposed policies, and demonstrate their understanding of the responsibilities attached to the offices they sought.
The manifesto exercise was successfully concluded by the Chairman,Israel Taiwo Okemakin at approximately 4:15pm
