"THE LION" it's a term used overtime to describe the doggedness and tenacity of previous speakers of the public administration house of parliament in delivering its constitutional duties and it has become a conventional norms going forward.
On the 21st of December 2023 at the post graduate lecture theater the parliamentary sitting of the house held, having in attendance quite a numerous number of students from different constituencies.
The sitting which started on a cozy note with various financial updates from different offices ends up in a state of dilemma between the offices of the director of socials and the financial secretary of the department.
This brought about their suspension as the both of them seem not to agree on some financial statement and documentation, therefore the house of parliament in it's wisdom suspended the director of socials (ADEDAYO ADEAGBO) and the financial secretary ( ADEBAYO WASIU)for a period of a week starting from the end of the festive break and are not to administrate any functions pertinent to their office and also gave them till the next sitting to submit come up with a well detailed financial report.
Also the president of the department (ODEJIDE ANUOLUWAPO JANET) seems to be spending money deemed fit to the house without the approval of the house which is against the constitution of NAPAS, and it seems the house decided to sweep it under the rug, and various napasites are asking if the executive arm are in bed with the legislative arm.
Another scenario that seems to likely back up the earlier question is that on that same day the house passed a judgement on the behavioral misconduct of the librarian (FAITH UCHENNA ) towards her office. The house asked her to write an apology letter within 24hrs and it took her 2weeks to do the needful, and this makes people question the authority of the speaker.
One can only ask if the house of parliament is on the thread of maintaining and improving its former glory or otherwise, Does the lion seems to be asleep or is he scared of roaring?
