“2 Goals, 2 Penalties, and 1 Shocking Miss — You Won’t Believe How This Final Unfolded!

– By Public Voice Sports Desk

In a clash that brought intensity, passion, and tactical grit to the OAU Mainbowl, the Part 3 Public Administration team emerged champions of the NAPAS HOD’s Cup Final, defeating a spirited Part 1 side 2–0 on Wednesday.

From the first whistle, it was clear the stakes were high — one team hungry for glory, the other hungry for history.

Despite their relative inexperience, Part 1 stepped onto the pitch with surprising organization and a sharp intent to upset the odds. Their coordinated midfield play and resolute defending hinted at an early breakthrough. But as the game wore on, intent alone proved insufficient against a Part 3 side oiled by months of chemistry and match sharpness.

Jubril Opens the Scoring from the Spot

The breakthrough came in the first half when Part 3 won a penalty after sustained pressure inside the box. Jubril, calm and clinical, stepped up and slotted it past the keeper to give his side the lead.

Moments later, Part 3 were handed another golden opportunity to double the advantage — a second penalty. This time, however, Taiwo couldn’t convert, sending the ball off target and keeping Part 1’s hopes alive heading into halftime.

Youngjohn Seals It Late

Part 1 rallied in the second half, showing flashes of brilliance in transition, but their final touch lacked bite. As fatigue set in, gaps opened — and Part 3 capitalized.

With just minutes left on the clock, Youngjohn reacted fastest to a low cross, tapping in the insurance goal that sealed the match and the trophy. A moment of pure instinct — and pure class.

A Tale of Two Halves and Two Teams

While Part 1’s resilience earned them admiration, it was the experience and cohesion of Part 3 that ultimately wrote the winning script. More minutes played together, more time spent refining combinations, and more calm under pressure — it made all the difference.

The final whistle was met with wild celebrations from the Part 3 bench and fans, while the Part 1 side walked off with their heads high — bruised, but unbroken.

Final Score:

Part 3 – 2 (Jubril ⚽ [P], Youngjohn ⚽)
Part 1 – 0

For stalites , the package consisted of just one item: a department-branded crest. “It’s not just about getting something it’s about getting something useful,” said Oluwatobiloba, a Part 3 student...

Kanmi and seconded by the Speaker, setting the stage for what would become a drama-filled sitting. Audit Committee Under Fire An early flashpoint emerged when only three out of eight members of the Audit Committee were present—a quorum failure that drew immediate concern.
