NAPAS vs NABAS: The Final Battle is Set!

The Public Administration football team has secured their place in the final of the Humanities Continental Cup after a tense semifinal clash against the Philosophy team. The match had everything—intensity, controversy, and a thrilling penalty shootout that ended 5-4 in favor of NAPAS.

From the kickoff, it was clear that both teams came prepared. The game was tightly contested, making it hard to predict a winner. However, Philosophy struck first, taking an early lead and putting NAPAS under pressure. Despite multiple attempts, Public Administration couldn’t find the equalizer before halftime, and they went into the break trailing 0-1.

Determined to turn the game around, NAPAS came into the second half with more energy, pushing for an equalizer. Their efforts paid off late in the game when a Philosophy defender committed a handball inside the box. The referee pointed to the spot, awarding a penalty to NAPAS. Their ever-reliable forward, Mubby, stepped up and calmly slotted the ball into the net, leveling the score at 1-1.

Immediately after the penalty, tempers flared as a Philosophy defender confronted the third official over the handball decision. The situation nearly escalated into a brawl, but quick intervention from NAPAS players prevented it. The Philosophy player was shown a red card, reducing their team to ten men.

With no more goals scored in the remaining minutes, the match proceeded to a penalty shootout. NAPAS' first-choice goalkeeper, Slade, suffered an injury while attempting a save and had to be replaced by Richard, a Part 3 student. Though Richard did not make any saves, luck was on NAPAS’ side when Philosophy’s fourth penalty taker sent his shot wide. That crucial miss sealed the game, as NAPAS converted all five of their penalties to win 5-4.

With this victory, NAPAS advances to the final, where they will face the Business Administration team in a battle for the championship. One last game stands between them and the ultimate glory.

On February 4, 2024, the Public Voice News Agency team had the privilege of sitting down with the Head of the Department of Public Administration for an insightful conversation about the department's new program initiatives.
