EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH NAPAS MARATHON WINNER

WINNER OF NAPAS MARATHON

PV: I'm Mould Precious from Public Voice News Agency

Can I meet you?

Abdulrahmon: My name is Abdulrahmon Olalekan Badmus, a part 2 student of Public Administration.

PV: In few words can you please share your experience during the NAPAS Marathon 1.0?

Abdulrahmon: Okay!

It was a nice experience for me actually, not too much of an issue jogging the distance probably because i do it almost every weekend, but because there’s a prize attached, I had to adjust my pace and mentality😅. But it was fun all through.

PV: You were already used to the activity of running, that's good.

What motivated you to contest for the prize money?

Abdulrahmon: Lol, my answer is in your question already, the “the prize money” motivated me actually😂. But I also loved the idea of being the winner of the first ever NAPAS Marathon so that was also a motivation for me.

PV: What did you think got you going during the race, I mean you could have given up halfway?

Abdulrahmon: Hm, you’re right actually, there was a point I almost stopped running because I wasn’t feeling my legs anymore 😅. But then, I thought about what got me started in the first place,( the motivations I mentioned earlier) and I also remembered that winners don’t quit and quitters don’t win either so I chose to be a winner and kept moving regardless.

PV: Hmm, winners don't quit instead they keep on moving ✍️

Did you have a full conviction that you were going to win before the race began ?

Abdulrahmon : Hmm, to be fair, I thought in my head I was gonna win before I got to the venue, but when I got there and saw other contestants, I had a slight change of thought and settled I was gonna be among the top three even if I didn’t end up winning. But then I ended up winning, thank God for that.🙂

PV: Thank God ☺️

What did winning feel like?

Abdulrahmon: Felt really good, the videos and pictures we took after made it even more enjoyable, I loved it!😅

PV: What would you like to say to the organizers of the event

Abdulrahmon: I've been waiting for this…

I really commend the Director of sports and his committee for bringing up such an amazing event, I hope it’s the first of many to come. Also the department executives and staffs for providing the necessary supports to ensure the event was a success.

God bless NAPAS for life!.

PV: Any shout outs?

Abdulrahmon: Yeah.. shout out to the D.O.S Junior, the first runner up Femi from my class and everyone who participated in the event. Y’all made it a wonderful experience.

PV: Alright sir.

Thanks for your time, this will be all for now🙏

 Congratulations once again
