NAPAS SYMPOSIUM' 23



 The symposium for the newly admitted students of the department of Public Administration held yesterday, the 30th November, 2023 as at 1:24 at Classroom A , Admin Extension, In other to lead the freshmen into the journey of academic excellence and adaptation to the university Life.

MC- Aluko Emmanuel 

       Anchoring the event was the master of ceremony Aluko Emmanuel, he recognized the presence of the Head of department (Prof T.A OLAIYA), Dr POPOLA, DR SHIYANBADE, Executives and legislators of the student's association, members of the press(Public Voice), Chartered institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) and the freshers orientation committee.
President Odejide Janet

 Thereafter the president - Anuoluwapo Janet Odejide gave her welcome speech by emphasizing on the motto of OAU "For Learning and Culture, sports and struggle". She also admonishes that they should put God first as all their efforts will definitely amount to their success.

Dr Popola 

Speaking on the theme of the theme symposium " Adapting to university Life; Strategies For Fresh students Wellbeing and Academic Balance " Dr Popola started his speech with a quote "You Make your Life Count". He mentioned two key strategies that will guarantee the academic excellence and wellbeing as : Loving God and Loving yourself. He encouraged that they should give adequate attention to their academics and emphasized on the importance of hard work. He ended his speech by wishing the students a resounding success in their academics. 

The President of the (CIPM) Chartered Institute of Personnel Management , Miss Yusuf Najat also welcomed the Freshmen and also urged them to join the club as their benefits attached to being a member of the CIPM HR club OAU chapter. 

The Public Voice News Agency Editor in Chief in person of Mr Aluko Emmanuel , educated the fresh students on what the Public Voice News Agency is all about and also encouraged them to join .

PROF OLAIYA 

Rounding up the lecture for the symposium the Head of Department , Professor T.A Olaiya congratulated the Freshmen as he stated that their being in the University shows that they are Champions.. He further delved into the theme for the symposium ; Adapting to University Life : Independent and Responsible Studentship. He concluded by stating that the end product of painstaking endeavors is successful studentship and also reminded that "the joy of admission is not in matriculation , but in graduation"

 The students also got engaged in some give aways by answering questions and riddles from the master of ceremony.

         The speaker of the NAPAS House of Parliament in person of Rt. Hon Olanrewaju Oluwatobiloba and his deputy, Hon Samuel Iyata also addressed the students and educated them on what the House of Parliament stands for in the department,  after which an election followed suit declaring Igbayilola Daniel, Abass Fisayo, Gbenro Temiotan as honorables representing part 1 constituency.





No doubt as this was a knowledgeable journey to help the fresh students strive in their new chapter as a university Student.

The Aura was perfect as the freshmen were eagerly ready to gain knowledge.

The program was brought to an end with a closing prayer.
